Reflection Rising is a site-specific installation designed by Patrick Shearn of Poetic Kinetics for the Scottsdale Waterfront and Canal Convergence. It runs above the canal from the Marshall Way Bridge to the Soleri Bridge. Hundreds of thousands of brightly-colored streamers are suspended by a lightweight, virtually invisible net allowing the kinetic sculpture to move fluidly in the wind. Reflection Rising

“I create site-specific, experiential public art installations that are tailored to the local community, providing a unique and ephemeral experience. My large-scale sculptures ignite all the senses with playful and inviting design that encourage engagement and interactivity.”

– Patrick Shearn

Dates on Display: Nov. 17, 2017 – March 5, 2018

Patrick Shearn founded Poetic Kinetics, a Los Angeles based immersive art studio whose outstanding kinetic sculptures are a spectacle that take over the space they occupy.  Poetic Kinetics has come out of film, concert/live event, and circus industries, allowing for their work to be larger than life.  The impact of their installations have been displayed in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and at the Electric Daisy Carnival, the Coachella Music & Arts Festival and the Beijing Olympic Games.
