Choi + Shine Architects

As Canal Convergence continues to grow and expand, the event will transition to a November time slot. Choi + Shine Architects are creating the first of several large scale, site-specific installations to be featured at the November event. Their sculpture, ARIZONA!, is an 8-foot-tall, 650-foot-long hand-crocheted lace ribbon, which will elegantly meander over and around the Arizona Canal.

During the February and March Canal Convergence event of 2018, the artists of Choi + Shine Architects visited the canal to explain their project and engage the public in participating.  The hand-crocheted pieces are separated and dispersed to over 100 experienced crochet volunteers in Arizona alone to contribute their craft to the piece.

Choi + Shine are looking for experienced crocheters to contribute to this piece.   If you are an experienced crocheter and interested in helping, contact Sarah Kim at
