What would you say to water? What song would you sing to it? What stories would you tell? Visualize soundwaves in water during this mashup of music, art, and science. Participants in this drop-in workshop will vibrate a dish of water attached to a speaker by singing into a microphone or using a tablet app. Changes in pitch and volume will create various figures and forms in the water. This phenomenon, known as cymatics, will be captured on camera and displayed in a nearby monitor. After a short session of sonic exploration, participants can record and upload a video of their experimentation to share with others.
