Gyotaku — Fish Prints
Amanda McGlothern
Participants will use a traditional Japanese method to create their prints using molds of underwater creatures.
Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Gyotaku is the traditional Japanese method of printing fish, a practice that dates back to the mid-1800s. This form of printing was traditionally used by fishermen to record their catches but has become a beautiful and unique art form. During this drop-in workshop, artist and art educator Amanda McGlothern will show participants how to create their own prints using molds of underwater creatures.
