Jimmy Pines and Washboard Jere

Jimmy Pines and Washboard Jere perform original hillbilly blues as well as covers of traditional blues, honky-tonk, and gospel.

Saturday, Nov 13, 2021, 7:15 p.m. - 8 p.m.

About the Event

Born James Dorholt in Minneapolis, Jimmy Pines has been a fixture of the Phoenix honky-tonk, blues, and rockabilly scene for more than 20 years. Local bands like The Varmits, The Hoo Doo Kings, The Rocket 88’s, El Trio Grande, Mario Moreno’s Ramblers, and The Rhythm Room Allstars have all benefitted from his talents. He was inducted into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame in May of 2006. His first instrument was the drums, which he still plays. These days, he spends most of his time stomping on a bass drum, banging an acoustic guitar, and belting out his original hillbilly blues.

Jimmy Pines is accompanied by his beautiful wife, Jere, who plays washboard, assorted eclectic percussion instruments, and sings. Besides their originals, the duo is known to cover blues, honky-tonk, and gospel. And at any time, Jimmy Pines might launch into a soaring cowboy yodel. Together, they form a fun, high-energy, and versatile duo.
