While attending Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, Nova Baize was mentored by three powerful artists. Carla Harryman offered an otherworldly perspective through creative writing. Ron Allen disintegrated conventional knowledge. He insisted that she write in her own language, using organic processes and instinct. Professor Glenda Dicker/sun led her to spiritualize and personalize performance. She learned that shared art unleashes the marginalized voice. Words and performance can shift injustice and pain into dynamic action.
Through creative activism, she pieces together resources to improve our world. Serving on the editing team of The Revolution (Relaunch) at TheRevolutionRelaunch.com is yet another way Nova aims to annihilate construct, prescribe redefinition, and, ultimately, gift transcendence.
