About the Event

Outside the Line is one of the Valley’s most popular variety bands. Since 2012, the band members have been performing at events, festivals, clubs, and casinos throughout the Valley and across the state, playing more than 140 shows every year. They have a powerhouse song list that spans from Motown and dance pop to classic rock and today’s popular hits. 

James Logan III, lead vocals and percussion, started singing as a young child, the eldest of a musical family. His voice, stage presence and harmonizing skills help set the band apart from the rest. Deandra Johnson, lead vocals and percussion, started singing at age 8 in a local church and began playing gigs by 13, eventually touring with the backing musicians of the legendary Selena. She brings a passion for music, an energetic voice and phenomenal stage presence to Outside the Line. Shaun Erik Johnson, bass and vocals, previously played with Soulful Horizons and Soul Power Band. Armed with a soulful, powerful voice, Johnson has a way with words that always warms one’s heart, and he can play that bass too. Kent Moody is a top-notch keyboardist, vocalist, musical arranger, and musical director who has performed with jazz, classical, blues, country, gospel, and rock bands throughout Southern California, including ’60s soul and R&B legend Brenton Wood. Since relocating to Arizona, Moody has continued to develop his eclectic style. Lenell “Nell” Ragland, drums and percussion, discovered his love for drums at an early age and has played for multiple churches and R&B bands. He has performed with The Sir Harrison Band and The Real Thing Variety Band, becoming known for his skillful pocket play.
