Radio Blonde offers up a throwback ’70s sounds with a modern sensibility, creating music to make you dance.
Radio Blonde is a R&B/soul group from Phoenix that offers a modern take on the Motown music of the 1960s and R&B/funk of the 1970s. Radio Blonde is the brainchild of Corey Abramowitz, Ben Anderson, and Pedro Cortes. Abramowitz and Anderson started playing and writing together in the summer of 2018 as both were prominent singer songwriters in the Phoenix music scene. Taking a step away from the solo artist life, both musicians had a desire to start something new. Within minutes of the first band practice, they started writing songs together. Cortes, a locally renowned bass player, joined to assist the project in its infancy, but ultimately decided to see it through. Radio Blonde is a mixture of vintage and new, using strong melodic hooks in the likes of Al Green and Hall & Oates; penning fun, light-hearted lyrics in the style of Bruno Mars; and, most importantly, keeping the groove that gets your head bobbing. It all results in catchy hooks with a throwback vibe that makes you wanna move.
