About the Event
Surfing Godzillas, formerly known as the Showa Seven, formed more than 10 years ago to play the Arizona Matsuri, a yearly Japanese festival highlighting Japanese food and culture.โฏTheir songs are generally from the late 1960s, when drummer Tami (Tommy) Wollaston was growing up in Japan and playing popular music of the time in his high school band.โฏSurfing Godzillasโฏis an oyaji band, playingโฏretro Japanese rockโkayล popโof the mid- to late Showa era, 1960โ1980. Surfing Godzillas now consists of Tami Wollaston on drums and vocals, Preston Wollaston on vocals and guitar, Yvonne Brook on keyboards, Zach Vogt on bass, and Adam McGuire on guitar.
