SRP Canal History Tour
See the Arizona Canal as you’ve never seen it. This augmented reality tour, via the +ScottsdalePublicArt channel on the Hoverlay app, includes five stops along the Scottsdale Waterfront that tell the story of the engineering, history, and maintenance of the Arizona Canal. Each stop points out unique features that make the Scottsdale Waterfront a vibrant community space while also providing crucial resources for our state.
Access the tour by pressing “Start” on the “SRP Canal Tour” card when you are at any of the five SRP stops.
Please be aware of your surroundings while using the app.
Location: Along the eastern section of the Arizona Canal at the Scottsdale Waterfront. Begin the tour at the southern end of the Marshall Way Bridge.
How to Access AR at Canal Convergence
Before visiting the event, access your mobile device’s app store, download the Hoverlay app, and follow instructions to install the Hoverlay camera browser app on your mobile device. Search for the +ScottsdalePublicArt channel to unlock these experiences at home, or look for QR codes on signs or ground stickers at the Scottsdale Waterfront and around Old Town Scottsdale. Please note: the app requires an augmented reality-capable device running iOS 13 or later or Android 7.0 or later.
