Big Art 

The PORTAL

The PORTAL explores the allure of portals as gateways to other dimensions, transcending ancient tales and modern culture to encourage reflection on both the literal and symbolic meaning of portals. Travelers navigate the towering 17-foot structure, uncovering hidden features through an interactive console that commands the artwork’s circular video screen and LEDs. Immersive video and a custom soundscape envelop participants as they pass over The PORTAL’s threshold, creating a captivating spectacle and transformative journey for the public. 

This PORTAL explores natural human curiosity on a grand level, prompting the viewer to ask themselves: “What else is out there?”
